This decision to prolong the one-month warning strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) by an additional two months has been criticised by the federal administration.
Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, Minister of State for Education, stated the government has satisfied all of the demands of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) during a press conference following the celebration of the 2022 Commonwealth Celebration in Abuja on Monday, March 14.
ASUU’s strike has been extended, and the Federal Government has responded by saying all requests have been addressed.
Nwajiuba added that all earned allowances, as well as revitalization money, had been released, and he questioned why the union would decide to continue the industrial action further.
Remember that the Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU) stated on Monday, March 14, that it will extend the one-month warning strike that began on February 14 for an additional month.
