Everything You Need to Know About the College of Education Ikere Ekiti

The College of Education, Ikere Ekiti, is a state-owned and managed college of education. Located in the South West, Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State to be precise, the institution was initially founded, in 1997, as the defunct Ondo State College of Education, Ikere Ekiti.

One of the College of Education goals is to provide the resources, environment, and services needed to produce excellent graduates who are set to take on teaching roles in the Nigerian education sector.

The institution was previously a training centre for Technical Education teachers. It would train teachers of Technical and Vocational Education while still maintaining academic studies.

The College of Education, Ikere Ekiti, was affiliated to the then University of Ife (now called Obafemi Awolowo University).

The institution’s school fees are affordable, and it admits students regardless of religious or cultural affiliations. The College of Education, Ikere Ekiti, provides accommodation facilities, a spacious classroom, a standard library, a good road network, and others.

To supervise tertiary education in the country and lay minimum standards for accrediting academic awards and certificates in colleges of education, the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) was established in 1992.

In 1987, the government approved the running of the NCE (Primary) Sandwich programme in the institution. Consequently, the B.Ed. Sandwich programme was approved in 1992 and B.Ed. Regular programme (in affiliation with the University of Nigeria, Nsukka) in 2004.

College of Education, Ikere Ekiti offers programmes in Management and Social Science, Arts, and Science and Technology.

 Students are required to make payments through their respective portals. To make a payment, kindly follow these steps:

  • Visit the portal: portalcoikere.edu.ng
  • Click on Student/Staff login.
  • Log into your account and click on ‘Payment Option.’
  • Enter the necessary information. Afterwards, click on ‘Continue.’
  • A screen will be displayed. Enter ‘Pay via REMITA.’
  • Select one of the options. Students can pay using their ATM cards or through the bank.

First option

To pay using an ATM card, enter the following details:

  • The number displayed on the card.
  • Expiry date
  • Security code (the 3 digit CVV number displayed at the back of the ATM card)

After entering all details, click on ‘Enter.’

Second option

To pay through the bank, click on the ‘Bank Branch’ button. Afterwards, enter ‘Print Invoice.’

To make a payment, take the printed invoice along with you to any bank.

 College of Education Ikere Ekiti Degree

College of Education, Ikere Ekiti, runs the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN)’s education degree programmes on a Regular and Sandwich basis.

Following a directive by the Federal Government to stop the NCE Sandwich programme, the college currently admits students into the regular degree programme.

 College of Education Ikere-Ekiti Cut Off Mark

College of Education, Ikere Ekiti cut off mark is 100 for NCE programmes and 180 for degree programmes. It means that for candidates to be qualified for the Post UTME screening and eligible for admission, they must meet these requirements.

College of Education Result

Through the college’s portal, students can view their result(s) online. However, results can only be viewed online after the school has uploaded them. So, candidates will have to check again if their results have not been uploaded.

To check results online, kindly follow this procedure:

  • Visit the student portal: https://portalcoeikere.edu.ng/login.php
  • To log in, enter your Registration Number and Password (Access code).
  • Click on Result Checking
  • Select Check Results
  • If you desire to print the result, click on print.
  • Afterwards, log out.

The Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere Ekiti was previously known as the College of Education, Ikere Ekiti.

On the 16th of October, 2020, the Executive Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, signed the University of Education into law.

The motto of the institution is ‘Learning for Self Reliance.’
