About Kwara State Polytechnic
Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, is a tertiary institution managed and funded by the state government. His Excellency, Col. David Bamigboye, the then Military Governor of Kwara State, founded the polytechnic. During the launching of the four year development in 1971, a decision was made to establish Kwara State Polytechnic.
Following the promulgation of Kwara State Edict No. 4 of 1972, the institution was established in the state.
In January 1931, the institution commenced operation. Kwara State Polytechnic started with 11 academic staff members, 3 senior administrative staff, and 110 students.
Here is the mission of Kwara State Polytechnic: “To teach, impart and foster the highest level of intellectual development and provide services to humanity through the exploration of available scientific and research methods.”
