A Guide to Studying at the College of Education Agbor

The College of Education, Agbor is a state-owned institution founded in October 1979. Located in Agbor, Delta State, the college was founded by the former Bendel State Government to train professional teachers for the country’s educational sector. After this training, qualified students will be awarded the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE).

The then Governor of former Bendel State, Late Professor Ambrose Alli, officially opened the College of Education, Agbor, in 1981.

Following Delta State’s creation in 1991, the institution is currently owned by the Delta State Government.

The mission of the College of Education, Agbor is “to produce well motivated teachers that are capable of adopting appreciable expertise in pedagogy and ICT to develop the intellectual capacity of student at the basic education level.”

New NCE Students

Indigenes: Between N45,000 to N60,000 per session.

Non-Indigenes: Between N35,000 to N50,000 per session.

Returning Students

Indigenes: Between N15,000 to N20,000 (the tuition depends on the course of study)

Non-Indigenes: Between N20,000 to N25,000 per session (the tuition depends on the course of study).

The acceptance fee for newly admitted students is around N10,000.

The College of Education, Agbor, is a state-owned institution established in October 1979.

College of Education, Agbor, started as a technical institute. The institution was founded with the aim of training professional teachers. The then Governor of former Bendel State, Late Professor Ambrose Alli, officially opened the college in 1981.

In 1991, the then Bendel State gave rise to the creation of two states; Edo and Delta States. Delta State Government, therefore, became the owner of the College of Education, Agbor.

 College of Education Agbor Admission Form

To apply for the College of Education, Agbor admission form, candidates should meet the following requirements:

  • Candidates should have scored a minimum of 170 in the 2020/2021 UTME.
  • Candidates should have chosen the college as their first institution choice.
  • Candidates who did not choose CEO Agbor as their first institution choice but are interested in studying there can apply. They should apply for a change of institution with JAMB.

To apply, candidates should pay the application fee of two thousand naira to any Zenith Bank branch. After obtaining the application form, they should visit the school’s portal and complete the application form.

Qualified candidates are required to bring along the following documents for the screening exercise: A copy of the application form, birth certificate, Certificate of Local Government Area of Origin, receipt of the N2,000 fee, JAMB result slip, and a host of others.
