college of EduOther Institutions

The government of Oyo has closed an unlawful tertiary institution in Oke-Ogun.

The Oke-Ogun College of Management Sciences and Technology, Iseyin, was ordered closed indefinitely by the Oyo State Government on Tuesday, March 1st, due to non-compliance with registration processes.

According to Barrister Rahman Abiodun Abdu-Raheem, the state Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, some indigenes of the town had petitioned the Oyo state government and the federal government, alleging that the institution was neither registered nor accredited to accept students for enrollment.

It was learned that Barrister Abdu-Raheem had earlier this month invited and asked the Proprietor of the College, Mr. Adewale Owoseni, to remove any billboards with the school’s inscriptions till the necessary steps were taken.

The commissioner advised school proprietors to always do the required in their efforts to build schools in order to prevent unneeded embarrassment for both the state and the proprietors.
