A Guide to Studying at Kogi State Polytechnic

Kogi State Polytechnic is a state-owned institution established in 1992 by the then governor of Kogi State, Prince Abubakar Audu.

Located in Lokoja, Kogi State, the polytechnic was accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) in 2007. Its mission is “To produce skilled and competent manpower for commerce and industry using standard facilities and efficient personnel for the benefit of humanity.”

Candidates seeking admission into the Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes for the 2020/2021 academic session are required to follow the application procedure stated below:

  • Visit the official website, kogistatepolytechnic.edu.ng, and click on ‘Apply.’
  • Complete the form displayed on the page.
  • Complete email authentication
  • Click ‘Login.’
  • Fill in your username and password.
  • Complete the bio-data form
  • Enter your O’ Level grade
  • To generate RRR, click on payment/pay online.
  • Print application/screening slip.
  • Full-time applicants must pay for application and screening before they can be allowed to print the application/screening slip.

How to Apply for Kogi State Polytechnic

Here is the step-by-step for applying to Kogi State Polytechnic:

  • Visit the polytechnic’s website: kogistatepolytechnic.edu.ng and click on ‘Apply.’
  • Read the instruction before proceeding to log in.
  • After reading the instruction, click on proceed to login.
  • Fill in your ‘UTME No’ as username and ‘password’ as your default password.
  • Complete the short bio-data.
  • Upload passport photograph with size not more than 20kb. It should also have a red background.
  • Upload O’ Level result. If the result(s) is awaiting, select the awaiting option.
  • Click on the payment button to pay the Post UTME screening fee of N2,000. Generate RRR and click to pay online or to proceed to the bank.
  • After payment is made, print the registration slip. It must be coloured.
  • Take the registration long with you when coming for screening.

 Kogi State Polytechnic Resumption Date

The management is yet to release the polytechnic’s resumption date. The federal government has issued a statement, instructing institutions in Nigeria to halt academic activities due to the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
