JAMB 2022: Registration Date announced as JAMB Adds Two More Subjects, New Rules
For the UTME/DE registration 2022, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has said that it will start on February 12th and last until March 19th.
New UTME subjects have been added to the 23 already available, making the total number of UTME subjects 25. Computer studies and physical and health education are the new additions.
Candidates can now choose any two other subjects as part of their four UTME subjects if they want to or if that is what their chosen program wants them to do.
On Foreign Education
The JAMB registrar, Ishaq Oloyede, a professor, also said that the examination body has set up a task force to help foreigners who took the UTME in 2021 get into Nigerian colleges and universities.
They want to grow Nigeria’s tertiary institutions and “reverse the trend of Nigerians going to foreign universities and instead seeing foreign students coming in their numbers to take up admission spaces in our tertiary institutions,” said the board member.
He said that part of the job of the team is to put together the results of foreign students and send them to the universities for them to look at.
Munirat Lawal is the director of test administration; Fabian Okoro is the director of information technology services; and Mohammed A. Mohammed is the director of admissions.
No NABTEB A Levels
Mohammed Ahmed, the director of admissions at JAMB, has written to the vice-chancellors of the universities and asked them to lay out A-Level results from the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB).
Mr Ahmed said that NABTEB can’t do advanced level exams because of government rules.
“Any A/L GCE Certificate issued by NABTEB is, therefore, not registrable with JAMB, and the Board would not process the admission of any candidate with such a result.” This is what Ahmed said in the Board’s most recent weekly bulletin, which came out on Monday.
