Ede poly’s former Rector files a lawsuit against his successor over assassination charges.
Builder Patrick Hussain, a former Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Ede, in Osun State, has filed a lawsuit against his successor, Dr. John Taiwo Adekolawole, alleging that the latter made false and malicious accusations against him.
He claims that Adekolawole accused him of supplying guns in an assassination attempt on three officers of the institution during a Governing Council meeting held on August 5 and 6, 2019, causing him to lose his hard-earned reputation and character. The meeting took place on August 5 and 6, 2019, in Abuja, Nigeria.
In the lawsuit, the former Rector claimed that Adekolawole had subjected his person to relentless humiliation and public hostility because of his position as Rector. Against Adekolawole, he is claiming special and general damages in the amount of twenty-six million and five hundred thousand Naira.
Adekolawole responded to the lawsuit by stating that he and Hussain have been friends for a long time and that there has never been a disagreement between them and it was impossible for a church member to sue his pastor because he (Adekolawole) was his pastor.
