NECO releases 2021 GCE results
The National Examinations Councils, NECO, have released the results of the external candidates for the 2021 Senior School Certificate Examination, SSCE, in the United Kingdom (NECO GCE)
Prof. Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, Registrar/Chief Executive of NECO, made the announcement in Minna on Thursday, according to a press release. He stated that the findings were revealed barely sixty-four (64) days after the last article was written, which was a short period of time.
Approximately 47,916 individuals applied for the examination, according to the NECO’s chief executive.
“A total of 45,821 applicants took the English Language examination, with 36,116 (78.82 percent) achieving a Credit or above.”
” A total of 45,756 candidates took the Mathematics examination, with 35,706 (78.04 percent) receiving Credit or above.
According to the results, 29,342 applicants received five (5) credits or above, including English Language and Mathematics, accounting for 62.59 percent of the total.
“On the other hand, 37,991 applicants, or 81.04 percent, received five (5) credits or above, regardless of their proficiency in English language or mathematics.
It is estimated that 4,454 candidates would be booked for different types of misconduct in 2021, compared to 6,465 in 2020. This represents a considerable decrease in the number of malpractice cases.
Prof. Dantani went on to say that candidates can view their results on the NECO website, www.neco.gov.ng, by entering their examination registration numbers in the appropriate fields.
