Students at Rufus Giwa Polytechnic accuse the police of extortion.

The Nigerian police force has been accused of extortion and mistreatment by several students at Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, according to the pupils.

The students who posted their encounters on Twitter appealed to the appropriate authorities to assist them in recovering their money from the extortionists who had stolen it.

It was when they were on their way to the AAUA for their final year project case study that they were stopped by police officers, according to one of the victims @realpyper. They were then searched by the police, who reportedly threatened to kill them and dump their bodies in the jungle if they did not surrender the money they had on them despite the fact that they had no incriminating evidence on them.

According to the student, he and his colleagues had no option but to submit to the extortion of the rogue police officers in order to survive.
