Federal College of Education, Abeokuta, is a government-owned institution founded in 1976 and located in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Previously known as Federal Advanced Teachers College, it was the first tertiary institution established in Ogun State. Before relocating to its permanent site, the college was run in Abeokuta Grammar School compound. In 1978, the college moved to its permanent site in Osiele.
The institution provides five-year sandwich courses and three-year full-time programmes. Successful graduates are issued National Certificate in Education (NCE).

The Federal College of Education, Abeokuta, invites qualified candidates to apply for the Post UTME Form.
Interested candidates should possess at least four credits and a pass in relevant subjects at O’ Level. The credit passes should be obtained at not more than two sittings.
Candidates seeking admission into the Federal College of Education, Abeokuta must meet the following requirements:
- Candidates should have scored a minimum of 110 in UTME.
- Candidates who did not choose the Federal College of Education, Abeokuta, as their first choice, should do so with JAMB before registering for the screening exercise.
- Candidates should possess at least four credits in relevant subjects at O’ Level. It should be obtained at not more than two sittings.
To apply for the Post UTME screening, kindly follow the steps below:
- Log onto the official website: fce-abeokuta.edu.ng
- Complete your bio-data. Afterwards, pay the non-refundable application fee of two thousand naira. Payment can be made using an ATM card.
- Candidates should input a valid phone number. The institution will communicate with applicants using the information submitted.
- Candidates are required to take some documents along to the Admissions Office. Some of these documents include the UTME result slip, online registration form, to mention a few.
The institution will communicate with all applicants regarding the venue and date of the Post-UTME screening exercise. Candidates should also visit the college’s website frequently for admission updates.

Federal College of Education Abeokuta Resumption Date
FCE, Abeokuta has announced its resumption date, following a directive from the Federal Ministry of Education that tertiary institutions should resume academic activities on the 18th of January, 2021.
The management has instructed that students resume academic activities from the 18th of January, 2021. They should adhere to the COVID-19 protocols directed by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
Students should observe social distancing, wear face masks at all times, and wash their hands regularly.
