A Guide to Studying at the Federal College of Education Zaria

The Federal College of Education, Zaria is a government-owned institution located in Zaria, Kaduna State. Previously called the Advance Teachers’ College (A.T.C), the institution was authorized to commence academic operations in 1963. It, however, opened formally in 1962.

The college was founded with the aim of producing qualified non-graduate teachers to train students in secondary schools and Teacher Training Colleges.

Federal College of Education, Zaria, relocated to its present site located around old Jos road in 1973. The institution has made significant progress in areas of research, student population, facilities, and a host of others.

Federal College of Education, Zaria has adequate staff, spacious lecture halls, well-equipped laboratories, accommodation facilities, and a host of others. FCE Zaria has produced notable personalities that are making marks in the society. An example is the former Vice-Chancellor of Gombe State and former Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Professor Abdullahi Mahdi.
