SS2 student has suspended for slapping a corps member

The state government of Oyo state has suspended a senior secondary two (SS2) student of the Anglican Commercial Secondary School, Orita-Mefa, Ibadan, for slapping a serving corps member who was sent to the school.

On a visit to the school by the state Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Barrister Rahman Abiodun Abdu-Raheim, a pupil identified as Ojo Roqeeb was suspended for one month with immediate effect for his conduct.

Following the assault, the commissioner expressed concern that the suspension would serve as a warning to other students, adding that a letter of suspension should be sent to the student’s parents as a result of the suspension.

Students who are discovered acting in an uncivilized manner will be expelled from schools in Oyo State, according to the governor’s warning on the matter.

He further stated that the student, in turn, must express regret to the corps member and sign a pledge that he or she will not commit the same mistake again.
