Nigeria Defence Academy: Requirements, Recruitment, Form, and More

The Nigeria Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna, was founded in 1964. It is a military university established in response to defence needs, to train officers for commissioning into the Armed Forces of Nigeria: The Air Force, the Army, and the Navy.

Officers are trained at the Nigerian Defence Academy for a duration of 5 years (4 Academic years and 1 Military year).

Before NDA was established, the institution was previously known as the Royal Military Forces Training College (RMFTC). In 1960, after Nigeria’s Independence, it was renamed the Nigerian Military Training College.

NDA offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes to military and civilian students. It is the only accredited military university in Nigeria that offers programmes to students who want to become military officers.
