Niger State Polytechnic Zungeru: A Detailed Guide

Niger State Polytechnic, Zungeru, is a state-funded and managed tertiary institution situated in Zungeru, Niger State.

The polytechnic commenced operations as Zungeru College of Advanced Studies (ZUCAS). The institution was founded with the 1979 Niger State Edict No. 7 by the state government. It, however, commenced academic operations at Government College, Bida (temporary site) on the 10th of January, 1977.

Niger State Polytechnic relocated to its permanent site in September 1984, situated midway between Zungeru and Wushishi. The institution was established with the objectives of providing basic remedial studies that will prepare studies for entry requirements in the university and to offer various courses at the sub-degree level.

Niger State Polytechnic, Zungeru, currently comprises of two main campuses, namely:

  • The College of Science and Technology (CST) IN Zungeru.
  • The College of Administrative and Business Studies (CABS) in Bida.

The mission of Niger State Polytechnic, Zungeru, is “to produce knowledgeable and innovative graduates worthy in character and learning through effective teaching research and public service for the technological advancement of the country.”

Niger State Polytechnic Zungeru Resumption Date

Niger State Polytechnic, Zungeru, announced its resumption date, following a directive from the Federal Ministry of Education that tertiary institutions should resume academic activities on the 18th of January, 2021.

Students are advised to adhere to the COVID-19 protocols directed by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC). Students should observe social distancing, wear face masks at all times, and wash their hands regularly.

Niger State Polytechnic Zungeru Cut Off Mark

Niger State Polytechnic, Zungeru’s cut off mark is 120. It means that to be qualified for the Post UTME screening and considered for admission, candidates must score at least 120 in the 2020/2021 UTME.

Niger State Polytechnic, Zungeru screening exercise will be held online. Candidates must have sat for the 2020 UTME and scored a minimum of 120. They are also required to apply for a change of admission with JAMB if they did not choose Niger State Polytechnic as their first institution choice.
